Simply love their food . Great experience and family atmosphere. Fair price s and great adult drinks
I love el nopal. Decided to take my family here and it was a great time. I had never been to this location before. It was busy due to the occasion, but service was still prompt and waiter was attentive. Everyone enjoyed their food- I had the Monterey chicken with a side of shrimp, kiddo had pizza, teen got steak & shrimp, partner had taco salad.
I absolutely love El Nopal sadly, I don't go often enough. There are many in Louisville however I have never been to this location on Eastern Parkway. I came here because a friend from out of town was having a get together on her last night here. The parking lot is quite spacey but depending on how busy they are it may be difficult. It was surprisingly busy for a Monday night, I had no trouble finding parking though. I went in and told them I was meeting some friends and I was allowed to proceed to go on in. Once seated with friends I was waited on in a decent amount of time beings they were very busy. I ordered a Margarita ( I forget what flavor) and 3 Enchiladas (Cheese only). The Margarita delish as always, Enchiladas had a decent amount of Cheese stuffed inside. Nearly conquered it all except for one small bite, had I not stuffed myself with chips and salsa beforehand lol. I actually like this El Nopal even though it's not close to me. It does always seem busy whenever I'm driving by. I was impressed with the food and service here and would gladly meet up with friends here again.
We've been patronizing El Nopal on Eastern Parkway for years. We typically stick to the same order and it's always fresh and fast! Last night we ordered to go, and it was strange. When we called a man answered the phone without a greeting to indicate it was a business. I told him I thought I had the wrong number and he seemed bothered by the call. I looked up the number again and determined I did indeed call the right number. When I called again I received the same greeting and asked if it was El Nopal which he confirmed. Then I placed our order for a family of four. I'm taking our order the man repeated back something incorrect and I corrected him, and he seemed very frustrated with the call. When I hung up we were a little concerned with our order. My husband picked up the order and it was ready on time and smelled delicious! He said he experienced no issues picking up the order and everyone was friendly, so maybe just had an off person answering the phones. We ordered number 18 and 23 combinations and kids cheese quesadilla and kids taco meal with queso. Everything tasted like it normally does, but my only complaint was there was a tiny bag of chips with our order. Next time we need to ask for more, but I assumed they would include plenty of chips for a family of four and queso. First time our order was incorrect, we had asked for a kids chicken taco but received beef instead. Not a huge deal. Overall my family loves El Nopal. It's quick, easy and reliable.
Ordered a gigantic burrito listed as a special for the day at $15 and it was ENORMOUS. I chose chicken (beef was also an option) and it was stuffed full with beans, rice, and cheese in addition to the tender pulled chicken. Seasoned well and wrapped in a giant flour tortilla and covered in queso cheese sauce. I ate less than 1/4 and was just as stuffed as the burrito. I boxed the remainder to take home and am fully prepared to have 3 more meals because this beast is so big. Service was good, considering how busy the restaurant was for a Friday night. Fairly busy place and moderate noise level. Salsa (hot and mild) and chips were brought to the table as soon as we were seated. Food arrived in less than 10 minutes after we placed our order. Price is spectacular and a definite value.
